I wonder what would make shortie say such a thing. Now the girls page she posted this on was a beautiful chocolate half jamaican/half something else, so she was right about her being gorgeous, but there are hundreds of thousands of attractive dark skin girls. Bria Myles, Gabrielle Union, Nia Long (brown is a dark color), Maia Campbell, and a slew of other beautiful chocolate women.
Maybe I'm taking this out of context, what do yall think?

Yes i agree. I am not a dark skin woman but my little sister is and I feel very offended when people say that they aren't as attractive. In alot of cases they are more beautiful than light skin girls. There is nothing like a nice chocolate even complexion its beautiful.

This is my take on it....I am a beautiful woman of color.Chocolate? Yes,and loving it! To be honest as a child and even now, people act shocked to see a pretty "Dark Skinned" sista. They say things like,"I have never seen a pretty dark skinned girl like you".Or,"Man you are pretty FOR a dark skinned girl". It's really sad and mighty degrading to and among us as African Americans. If people only knew there history.There was a man in the slavery era who wrote slavery chronicles to help slave owners to manage there slaves better.He suggested by sleeping with the slaves,they will produce light skinned slaves which can create havoc and division.All they had to do was make the light skinned slaves feel entitled and better by creating them lighter duties and some house work.Mainly tending to children,sleeping with master,and keeping a clean house.Well,this worked.Dark skinned slaves could not understand the favortisim when they were all considered slaves.Slaveowners even told them that they were better looking because their skin was more like white people.This then created arguing,jealousy,and the start of African Americans being divided.They began to tell on each other and not even stick together like our heritage encourages.Please look up this document...."The Willie Lynch Chronicles".I promise your lives and prospectives will change.Wake up Black people,YOUR PRESIDENT IS BLACK!!!! What can I say? Ignorance is bliss! Im light skin & my bff is drk skin & it aggitates me 2 no end how some ppl treat me compared 2 her. Black is Black & Beautiful is Beautiful. All light skin chicks aint hot, contrary 2 popular belief! Ppl need 2 quit bein so simple minded n stupid. Ppl can't help what color dey come out no more then u can help who your parents are. I think dark-skinned males and females are more attractive, but maybe that's just me? I am dark-skinned, and when I tan...yes I do from time to time (beach not booth), I turn a lovely black cherry. As a child, adults always complimented me on my skin, I grew up loving it, and now I do the same with little black girls. I wouldn't change a thing, nor would the men I date. I am shocked that there are still people of all colors hating on dark skin. What's to hate?
I am a darksin young girl and when people tell me this i just accept it and go on with my life. There is nothing I can do about it so that's how society will always see us. Sorry for her lack of knowledge. I see why girls my skin coplexion and brown skinned girls have it hard.
I'm a white American girl and I am embarrassed to see this behavior from all colors of ppl.This view of dark skin as inferior, was brought to us by lighter men and this happens everywhere! With the comment posted and w/our personal experiences we know this is a too common perception in America, but did you know it happens in many cultures? In India, people range from almost white to purple black (some even w/kinky hair) and the darker ppl are often treated very badly. My own Indian father-inlaw called someone darker than him a "blackish fellow" and frowned. I was thinking, how would you feel if I held the same comparison to you? In Japan, they consider the central and southeast asians to be n*#gers because they look yellow and brown to them.
Brown is BEAUTIFUL and you're CRAZY if you don't know why! I look at my husbands rich skin and it makes me sad that some others don't appreciate that. I'm truly sorry that white ppl have put it into everyone's head that dark isn't quite pretty. That's a lie.
Not only is dark skin lovely, it is a blessing. Because of my beautiful melanin infused skin, I look 10 years younger than I am (40), my skin shows less flaws, and when I wear bright colors it pops! I am always getting compliments on my skin. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Like my grandmother used to say, “the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice” and “good black don’t crack.” I don’t listen to the color struck haters. They’re just sad ignorant people who never left the plantation.
as a fine fucking dark skinned chick who rooms with a gorgeous dark skinned chick, we laugh at the way that light skin girls have come to feel that bc of they're skin they are more beautiful. we both get, "you are fine for a dark skin girl". Our reactions, is to walk away from a man with that much ignorance
